Parker inPHorm for O-RingsThis is a unique software program developed by Parker Hannifin to assist engineers, seal designers and others in O-Ring seal material selection, proper gland dimensioning and O-Ring size selection. Material SelectionWith Parker inPHorm for O-Rings the user may specify system operating pressure, minimum and maximum operating temperatures and one or more fluids to be sealed; inPHorm will then search it's extensive database and recommend the most appropriate Parker O-Ring material to satisfy the user's stipulated parameters for further testing and evaluation. inPHorm users may also specify various MILITARY, ASTM and SAE rubber or fluid specifications and Parker inPHorm for O-Rings will recommend the appropriate Parker material to satisfy those special requirements. Users may select inch or metric measurements & data input as desired. Test ReportsParker inPHorm for O-Rings provides complete test reports for each of the 150 Parker O-ring compounds included in the inPHorm program. These reports were compiled from certified test reports on file at the Parker O-ring Division and contain the latest available information on an individual material's physical properties including compression set, modulus, tensile strength, elongation, and fluid compatibility. Test reports are viewable on screen and may also be printed out in hard copy for reference. Gland Design and O-Ring SizeParker inPHorm for O-Rings is
capable of dimensioning an appropriate O-ring gland or groove for
Static, Dynamic or Face Seal O-ring applications and recommending
the O-ring size to function properly in the recommended groove dimensions.
In addition to the complete range of Parker 2-dash O-ring sizes which
correspond to the AS568A sizes, Parker 3-dash O-ring sizes for tube
fitting bosses are also included. Several of the most time-consuming
functions involved in properly calculating O-ring size have been automated
with the Parker inPHorm for O-Rings program. Proper O-ring
squeeze, installation stretch and gland fill are all calculated
as part of the O-ring size portion of the software. Additional inPHorm FeaturesParker inPHorm for O-Rings has two additional features which will be helpful to the user. First, over 95% of the technical content of the current Parker Catalog, ORD5700, O-RING DESIGN HANDBOOK has been included in the inPHorm program. This extensive reference material may be accessed by the user utilizing a convenient pull-down HELP menu. Data may be printed out if desired for reference. Additionally, a complete GLOSSARY of elastomer and sealing terminology is available, also accessible through the HELP menu.
